Mini-Monsters

Using a Skillshare class by @HannyHoney to create cute characters using color, shapes, and lines, I created a collection of mini-monsters. Oftentimes, the works in my head are complicated and I wanted to do something simple yet satisfying at the same time. Simple as they are, I think they have plenty personality.

I created 19 characters in total. Some have more personality than others, but I love them all. Giving them names gives them all the start of their own stories.

Some Favorites

I created a rainbow shape for Miss Frazzle first, then decided that it was too basic. I made the rainbow into hair, all frizzy and static-y. Miss Frazzle is always frazzled, eyes wide open and mouth open in shock. She is an older monster and is motherly in many ways. She worries and worries and can't help but become frazzled in an attempt to keep every monster safe. I like her hair the best.

Ben, short for Benzene, is a monster who is disappointed. Disappointed at every thing and everyone. He has run out of things to say and fucks to give. Common sense has left the building and Ben is exhausted. I love his sassy face and hand on the hip. He clearly has better things to do but still tries to keep the world from setting itself on fire, to no avail.

Nial is a simple monster with a goatee. He has lived for a long time and has seen the world. He is not as pessimistic as Ben for he has seen small glimmers of light. However, his shoulders are nonetheless burdened with the weight of the knowledge of the world and his eyes are weary from the sight of stupidity.
